Tonight I went to the Wal-Mart in Natomas to attend a very special event put on by DeMarcus Cousins. This event was actually going to be a couple weeks ago but had to be postponed until today because of his illness.
Tonight DeMarcus put on a shopping spree for local children in the area. Each participant was able to spend $200 on whatever they wanted from the store... how cool is that?!?!
Here are some of the kids who came out. Besides the shopping spree they got a very special Santa Cuz t-shirt. There was definitely a lot of purple going on here at the Wal-Mart.
Members of the Kings organization were on hand to help out and participate as well. Katie Nicholson and her staff came out to spread the holiday joy with the children in attendance.
Big Cuz went out into the store to help the kids choose their toys. Here he is giving a recommendation to a couple young boys. I'd listen if I were them!
DeMarcus took the time to take a whole lot of photos tonight. Everybody wanted to get a picture with him, and he was great with everyone out there.
Big Cuz also signed a whole lot tonight... t-shirts, basketballs, and even medals got an autograph on them. These autographed items will make a great keepsake to remember this day.
Well look who else showed up... SKD! The dancers take the time to get out to many of these community events. They interacted with everyone and brought a lot of warmth to the store.
As DeMarcus was about to leave he was presented with a huge get well soon poster with messages from the students of Oak Park Prep. What a sweet gesture by the kids! Big Cuz is rumored to be back in the line-up Thursday against the Bucks.
