Kings v. Thunder 12.16.14

Tonight would be a very busy night at the game. Lots of special things were going on at the arena and ESPN was in the house! Because of all the extra media, I couldn't get the Kings.com photo lane. That would be ok though... I still got lots of images!

Fans always love being able to participate in the high-five line before the game. They get to snap photos while on the court and encourage the players as they come through. It's a great opportunity to have, and I hope many fans get a chance to experience this.

DeMarcus once again got some work done on the floor before the game but didn't participate. He does look improved, and I hope his return is very soon. Even when he comes back he'll need time to adjust as he has been gone for so long.

Taking over Grant and Jerry's location was ESPN. Mark Jackson (middle) has been rumored to be on the Kings' short list of potential head coaches. Him being there definitely made for some interesting speculation by the media.

No, this isn't a San Francisco Giants game. But this fan used an old sign to display at this game. I didn't get a chance to see what he put on the front of it, but it was funny to notice the back every time he held it up.

The Kings front office says that they want the Kings to play with more pace and with faster speed. There were a few things that the Kings did tonight to show this philosophy of basketball, but only time will tell if they will be able to perfect it.

The highlight of this night had to be the retiring of Peja Stojakovic's jersey number during halftime. Peja was a beloved King during his stint with the team. He had a wicked shot and was a super efficient basketball player.

Many former Kings came out to celebrate this ceremony with Peja. It was fantastic seeing all these guys back in Sacramento at the same time.

The Kings were down for most of the game, but the team scratched back and got it within one point. The fans went nuts and were waving their rally towels with great intensity.

The Thunder proved to be too much and were able to pull away from the Kings in the fourth quarter. The Kings showed guts and determination, but they were overcome by a superior team. Let's hope we get our big guy back and in game-shape ASAP!
