Kings v. Nuggets 2.19.16

It's been nearly two weeks since the last Kings home game. They've been on the road and also off for the All-Star break. It was great to be able to get back in the arena for some basketball action. Tonight I invited my friend Nai and her sister to the game. Nai and I did a Kings fashion photoshoot together recently! She is a HUGE Kings fan.

I always love walking around and seeing all the fans that attend the game. This young fan is at her first Kings game! I hope she got her wish and was put on the Jumbotron tonight.

At long last the players came out and got ready to warm up. Besides being off, the Kings have been in the media recently regarding some team turmoil issues. The best way to get rid of those is to come out and play well.

Each member of the Kings supports each other. Though Eric Moreland has been out for nearly the entire season, he's always on the bench cheering on and encouraging his teammates.

The Kings took on the Nuggets tonight. As it was a Flashback Friday the Kings donned their baby blues. What was awesome was that the Nuggets also went retro! The combination of old school jerseys was a sight to behold.

The Kings and Nuggets had their moments of heat during the game. There was certainly an intensity level that I didn't expect to see. I knew the Nuggets would be fired up though as their coach Mike Malone was back at Sleep Train for the first time since he was let go by the Kings.

The Kings played a great game led by both Big Cuz and Rondo. They were able to earn this first win on their return from the break. The Kings are still aways back from the eighth playoff spot, but it is still within reach.

Besides the players going retro, the court made headlines by going retro too! Tonight the entire court had a make-over and was designed the way it looked back when the arena first opened in 1985. It looked spectacular.

Also in the building was Jenn Santich! She brought her cute baby with her. I was able to get a snap of her as she was walking by. Great to see her at the arena once again!

Kings v. Bulls 2.3.16

Before the game the Kings presented DeMarcus Cousins with his All-Star jersey. It was a presentation and a tremendous honor for our highly skilled big man!

The Kings have been struggling since a scorching hot start in January. They are going to need to really get some wins under their belt to get back into the thick of things. This is the last game before a significant time away from Sleep Train arena, so hopefully they can get the W.

I was surprised to see Ben ready to play in this game. His wrist was bothering him, but he was a go for this one.

As usual, the arena was packed! Through the Kings struggles the fans have come out to support the team. That's what true fans are! They stick with the team through thick and thin.

The Kings are in a pretty big funk right now as they seem to allow opposing teams to get off to really hot starts. The Kings always end up making it a game, but far too often there just isn't enough gas in the tank to take it over the top.

The Bulls are a good team and they got the better of the Kings tonight. It was a frustrating game for the team. It's time to regroup as they head out on the road.

Ben McLemore at Pizza Guys in Natomas 2.2.16

Tonight Ben McLemore made an appearance at the Pizza Guys in Natomas. This was his third and final Pizza Guys appearance for the year, so it was important for all the Kings fans to come out and get a chance to see B-Mac! As you may know, Ben is currently out with a wrist injury and missed yesterday's game because of it. Though he is recovering from that injury, he still came out for the fans. What a guy!

The Kings fans came out in great numbers to meet Ben. It was a cold night out in Natomas but that didn't stop them from coming out. Luckily Pizza Guys provided an area on the inside for people to wait before getting to see Ben. They also served some delicious food items from their menu to those in line. Those guys think of everything, don't they! Sacramento is lucky to have such a great local pizza chain to call their own!

Kings pride was evident with each and every fan. They were dressed in purple and came with a variety of Kings swag. You just gotta love the big Kings flag that this particular fan brought to the meet and greet. There are no better fans in the world!

And yes, there were many selfies taken tonight. And of course there were photos like this one taken of people taking selfies!

Because of Ben's wrist injury, he was unable to sign autographs for his fans. Instead, each fan got a photograph specially taken for them with Ben. The photos will be available on the Pizza Guys Facebook page soon.

If you were at the event and would like to see the photo you took with Ben, it will be in the video shown above.

Thanks to everybody who came out tonight! And thanks to Pizza Guys for always providing these amazing player/fan opportunities.

Kings v. Bucks 2.1.16

It's been a complete turnaround since the last game. The Kings started off January by being an amazing team... but they have just lost the past four straight and the feelings on the team are back down. Let's see if tonight they can turn things around.

The Kings celebrate the Lunar New Years with quite a few on-court festivities such as dragon dances and announcements in Chinese. It was quite a show!

It's always great to have my friend Sasha come to the game. We did a Kings themed fashion shoot recently at the Golden 1 Center site. It was great fun!

Boogie was out for this game. No Boogie usually spells for very bad news for the Kings as they have a very tough time winning without him.

Though the Kings were missing their All-Star leader, there's always hope and everybody in the building was still optimistic for a Kings victory.

The entire night was great fun. The dancing was spectacular as well as the play on the court. It was great to see everybody so in sync with each other.

The Kings got a much needed victory tonight without DeMarcus on the court. I really hope he is able to recover from his ankle sprain quickly. Though the Kings pulled this one out, they need their big man in a big way!

Kings v. Hornets 1.25.16

Tonight the Kings would play the Hornets. The Hornets come into Sleep Train pretty depleted with quite a few players injured. Though this game should be an 'easy' victory... it's these kinds of games that are the scariest for Kings fans.

For whatever reason, it's these kinds of games that the Kings struggle in the most. I'm not sure what it is, but the Kings tend to come out flat.

Though the Kings were having some struggles, the SKD were not. I really enjoyed the performances tonight and the amazing energy they brought to the court.

The SKD continue to amaze the Kings fans each and every game night. The moves, the coordination, and the positive energy they have is off the charts!

This was a very long and tiring game as it went to two overtimes. There were multiple opportunities for the Kings to get this win but they just couldn't take advantage of them.

As I feared, the Kings lost a heartbreaker of a loss. They lost by one point in double overtime. The Kings will just have to move on and forget about this one. That's easier said than done though as I know I'll be having this one on my mind for a while.

Kings v. Pacers 1.23.16

I caught a couple of fans in the high-five line taking a nice selfie on the court. If you can, I highly encourage you to take part in the high-five line. There really aren't too many experiences like it!

The Kings have had a very good beginning of the new year. They have been playing tough and getting some much needed victories to propel them into a playoff spot.

DeMarcus has been an absolute basketball beast during this stretch. He has dominated the opponents using unbelievable skill.

The fans were having a great time during the game as they celebrated the Kings during the game. I love seeing the kids come out and dance with the SKD. Great times!

It's great seeing Big Cuz smiling and having fun on the court during these victories. The Kings definitely need to keep this going strong!

Kings v. Hawks 1.21.16

My wife Jenn (right) got to come to this game with her friend... Jen! Yup, that's two Jennifers here at the game. I know a ton of Jenn's for whatever reason. It's a pretty rare occasion when my wife gets to come to a game so I always think it's a special treat when she's able to attend.

Willie has been doing awesome for the team. His defense and effort has been a huge difference maker for the Kings. So far his selection in the draft has been a real bright spot for the Kings. I'm hoping for more and more big things from Big Willie!

Thunder sticks rain down! It's funny to see all the fans clamor for these as they come down from the rafters. They do make a fun collectible and keepsake from the game though so I totally get it.

The Kings have been on a roll recently and that continued with this game. It was not an easy win by a long shot though. The Hawks fought all the way until the end. The Kings ended up getting a close victory.

Nice on-court moment here. Fresh and Slamson greet each other with a little smile and point after the Kings pulled this one out.

Kings interviews means Kings victory! Tonight Kayte got to ask Rajon about the game and what went down.

The Kings dancers were joined by the Reno Big Horn girls tonight. It was pretty sweet to see the two dance teams on the court together.
