Kings v. Pelicans 1.13.16

Back at the arena after missing the Kings take on the Warriors. I had a good reason though... I was receiving a photography award that day! Besides my usual duties of taking photographs, I also took over the Kings Snapchat account and sent out snaps throughout the game.

The Kings were playing the Pelicans tonight. The Pelicans have been struggling before this game. Their main player Anthony Davis had been out, but he returned to play in this one.

Excitement was in the air as the game began. The Kings fans are the best in the entire world and you can feel the energy in the arena before the start of the action.

It's always great being right there in the middle of the action. Here's a nice photo of Rudy Gay as he drives with the basketball in the first half of the game.

DeMarcus always plays hard. He's the focus of the opposing teams defensive schemes so he always has to work extra hard to get positioning.

Despite being having a full roster of players, the Kings fell behind by a very large margin... I believe the largest margin against any opponent this year.

The Kings made a comeback in the fourth quarter but couldn't overcome the huge lead that the Pelicans had. This was definitely a disappointing game as the Kings just can't make it over the hump like they need to. We'll see how they do as they take to the road for a few games.

Kings v. Lakers 1.7.16

I missed the last Kings game versus the Suns as I was participation in a convention, but this was a game I absolutely had to attend. It was Kobe's last game at Sleep Train Arena before his retirement at the end of the season. There was no way I was going to miss this one!

Besides Kobe's retirement, it was Bollywood Night at the arena. Bollywood night is always extremely exciting and fun for all who attend. I actually was on special assignment tonight as my photos were being live streamed to India as I took them. I had a seat in Kings Row right behind Vivek and next to Jamie Foxx!

Like the game against the Sixers, this one was one the Kings should get. The Lakers have been terrible this year and their record shows it.

The Kings jumped out to a huge lead with had explosive plays from players like Quincy Acy. The team was totally rolling and the Sacramento fans were loving every second!

At halftime Vivek's daughter Anjali came out to perform. She's a recording artist and has a pretty big fan following. She's performed at the arena a few times either at halftime or singing the national anthem.

Rapper IamSu joined Anjali center court for the performance. It was pretty awesome to be right there in front of them as they did their thing.

The Lakers roared and made a massive comeback in the later half of the game. Kings fans were definitely nervous as the game drew down to its closing moments.

Thankfully, this wasn't a repeat of what happened with the Sixers the other day. The Kings hung on to win. Because of Kobe there were many Lakers fans in attendance. They all went home sad! Hah! Too bad.

At the end of the game Kobe greeted his former opponents like Peja and Vlade. Everybody wanted to greet Kobe during this game.

I decided to stick around in the media room as Kobe gave a post game press conference. He was in a good mood and telling stories of his memories of playing in Sacramento. It was definitely a special experience to be apart of.

Kings v. Sixers 12.30.15

Tonight the Kings would face the 76ers. Sacramento's first round draft pick last year, Nik Stauskas, was traded to the Sixers at the end of last season and tonight he would make his return to Sleep Train.

Slamson and the Kings had a bit of fun with Nik as they broke out some of the fun things dealing with the nickname he had last season - Sauce Castillo.

The Kings should have been ready for this game as the Sixers were the worst team in the NBA. It's this kind of game, though, that worry me the most as they can be a trap in terms of being overlooked.

As feared, the Kings didn't come out with the intensity that they should have against this team. In the NBA, any given team can beat anybody... no matter what their record.

The Sixers put their entire effort against Big Cuz and the Kings. They certainly didn't look like the worst team in the league today.

Though the Kings struggled in this game, fans still had the SKD to look forward to. I love seeing fans supporting their favorite NBA dance team!

The SKD are always guaranteed to bring their A-game with a stunning performance. They did so again tonight.

In the end the Kings lost to the Sixers. There just wasn't enough out of the Kings tonight. Everybody in the arena expected an easy win, but instead we learned a lesson in tempering expectations.
