Today Ben McLemore took a turn hosting Sacramento area children for a shopping spree at Wal-Mart. The season of giving continues for the Sacramento Kings - it's humbling to see the care the Kings have for the community!
Ben didn't come alone. He brought a couple of big names from the Kings organization with him - Scott Freshour and Slamson! Slamson was up to his usual antics as he ran around the store. Scott partnered up with a kid and took him shopping!
It wasn't all fun and games with Slamson though... here he is giving a young girl a hug. It was such a tender moment. We love our lovable mascot!
Michelle, a fellow photographer and Kings fan, was at the event today. I actually know Michelle through Instagram and it was awesome to see her here. She does great work, and it was good to talk shop with her a bit.
Second night in a row for Katie Nicholson too! This girl seems to be at all these events. As the main person for the Kings Community, she's got to be in the middle of things. She does a great job of making sure everything goes smoothly.
Just like last night with DeMarcus, Ben took the time to take countless photos with the fans at Wal-Mart. All the kids wanted to get a photo and an autograph from him.
The most fun time of the event was the actual shopping part. Seeing Ben interact with the kids was priceless! Both Ben and the kids were having such a fun time together picking out toys. Ben's a big kid at heart.
The media was out and about getting some footage of the event. Ben did an interview as well as Scott Freshour. The kids got a chance to be on camera too - that was definitely exciting for them. What a great night! I'm so thankful that I could take a small part in it!
