It's been two weeks since the last Kings home game... yes... in my estimation that is way too long. Well, I was glad to be back at the arena with my friend Arnold. I had a media pass today so I went totally bonkers taking photos all around the arena. Hopefully you'll get to see some of these pics on Kings.com soon!
The Kings handed each fan who came in this awesome photo of Ben McLemore dunking over Shaq at the Slam Dunk contest during the All-Star Weekend. This is definitely one of the best giveaways that they've done. Should I get this one signed?
Tonight's national anthem was sung by an elementary school choir - while they may not have been technically on pitch the entire time, this had to be one of the cutest renditions of the anthem that I've ever heard. Huge props to the fans around me that helped the kids sing!
Ran into Gregg and Nadine just a few rows down where I usually sit. Gregg had this amazingly huge plate of nachos he got on the concourse. I didn't even know they had these available. I made it a mission to locate this nacho seller. Mission successful, I did eventually find it!
This is your Sacramento Kings Social Media team. They do top notch work, and have been tremendously kind to me. I really appreciate the work that they do, and they do A LOT of work. Everything you see on their homepage and social media outlets like Instagram and Twitter are managed by them.
Tonight the Kings hosted the Washington Wizards. They have just come back from going 2-5 on their east coast road trip. That might not be a great record, but the Kings won the games they 'should have' won and lost the ones they were expected to lose. So... it is what it is. Good to have them back home though.
This was one of my favorite pics I took of the on-court action. Reggie Evans looks like he really, really wants the ball, but Jason Thompson goes for the jump shot instead. If you'd like to see more game action photos, check out my Instagram account (blacksheep217).
Every-so-often California Family Fitness gives a fan a chance to win a one-year membership if they can maneuver through an on-court obstacle course that they set up. It's not too difficult a course to complete, and I think every fan who has tried it has been able to get the membership. On a side note, I like the mascots facial expression.
Jenn Santich is here interviewing someone right outside my entrance. I like this photo because though you can't see her on the left side giving the interview, she is clearly visible in the background on the screen.
The fans were totally winning all the contests tonight. This challenge is much more difficult than the Family Fitness one. The fan was given 30 seconds to make 6 free throws. I rarely see anyone pull this off, but he did. He won an iPad mini for his efforts.
The Kings Dancers were in great form tonight. As you can see they were once again in total coordination with each other during their routines. As a San Jose Sharks fan, I especially like this image because it looks like what the Sharks fans do right before the Sharks go on a power play.
Some high school fans in attendance sat just below my seats. They saw me taking a lot of photos and my media credential and asked me to take a photo of them. I later found out that some of the girls here were friends of SKD dancer Tammier.
So... since I took some photos with the girls below us, the guys who sat next to us also wanted a photo taken of them! So here it is! I definitely don't mind taking a photo of anybody who asks at a Kings game. If you're there and see me, just let me know! You might end up on my blog, my Instagram, or even on the Kings.com website!
I like this selfie I took with Dany and Nelly from the SKD. I ran into them as I was taking photos around the concourse area. It was cool to catch up with them a little since everyone's been out for what seemed like an eternity.
The Kings looked to be out of it late in the fourth quarter, but they pulled through, got the game to overtime, and took the victory. Great win tonight! Next up will be the San Antonio Spurs - now that's a really tough match up. I'll be going with 89 people from my church to that game. I'm really looking forward to it.
