Tonight was one of those rare instances when my wife could actually come out to the Kings game with me. I wish she could come out more often... but she has to work nights a lot, which obviously makes it hard to get to games. I'm always happier when she comes along though... haha... no offense to my season ticket holder buddies, of course!
Both teams were wearing these special red shooting shirts during warm-ups tonight. The NBA was promoting fitness throughout the game, and this was the way the players got involved with that. I've noticed that the Kings have been doing more dunks during warm-up time recently. That's been very cool to see.
There was a proposal tonight during one of the fan contests. This guy took the Kia half-court shot, and missed. But that wasn't the point of it all. His main goal was to propose on the court to his girlfriend. She said 'yes'! He sounded nervous with the mic on him... but who wouldn't be?!?!? Good on him for having the guts to pull this off in front of everyone!
Tonight the Kings Corps came out to perform. They've made a few appearances throughout the season already. They sort of bring a college-y feel to the arena with their drum corps rhythms and moves.
SKD came out an energized the crowd once again. They are always so spot on with their performances. I wish their second performance was a little longer though, I felt that they were on the court and off way too soon.
Here's a shot of the SKD catapult crew firing a t-shirt into the crowd for a lucky fan. I've noticed that the Kings do a lot of freebie give-aways during time outs. That's awesome for the fans, and everybody gets excited when these happen.
Slamson was being Slamson today. I love Slamson and all his antics. Nobody is safe from them! I can tell the lady is like 'whaaaaaat is going on?' But the security guard guy seems not to mind it too much.
The Kings kept it close and the fans were in full support of the team... but they just couldn't pull it off. They fought back countless times tonight, but couldn't make it over the hill. The Bobcats won. These past two losses have been very frustrating as they are games the Kings should be winning. To beat good teams like the Heat and Rockets then lose to the Sixers and Bobcats shouldn't happen! But that's the Kings for you... you never know what's going to happen with them!
