It felt great to be back at the arena tonight after the Kings spent a week on the road. Tonight NBA commissioner Adam Silver paid the city a visit. It was a pretty big deal - tons of media coverage followed him wherever he went. Here he is taking some questions in the media room.
The NBA is celebrating Black History Month, so the players wore special warm-up t's when they came out to shoot around.
Sometimes players warm-up together. Here we see Rudy Gay and Quincy Miller doing some skills drills on the court. Both were trying to maintain the ball while at the same time attempting to steal the others rock.
As the game began, the players huddled up as one to ready themselves. There is so much hype at the beginning of the game, I can only hope that the Kings match the intensity of the atmosphere.
In the beginning of the game the Kings did just that. The team was hitting their shots and actually got a nice double-digit lead. Ben McLemore hit a bunch of shots to help the Kings get a jump on the Warriors.
Though the Kings started off very quickly, the Warriors flipped the script and went on a huge run. Before you knew it, the Kings were the ones down by double digits. It was hard to believe that the energy the team had at the beginning of the game disappeared.
Half-time brought us rapper Flo Rider. He had a couple of dancers with him, but the entire SKD dance team in attendance that night had the opportunity to be a part of the performance. It was great seeing them out there working with such talent.
The half-time show was fun, and it was great to see the Kings bounce back a bit after being down so many points.
In the end, the Warriors ended up pulling very far ahead. It was tough to see all the Warriors fans in attendance cheering on their team. The Kings just need to improve... and quick! The next game will feature the Kings against Dallas. I hope to see you there!
