It's game two of the NBA season and the Kings fans were again packing the arena in full force. No matter what game it is the fans come out wearing their pride in bold ways. I especially like this picture because it was taken just as the elevator arrived. The people in the elevator decided to photobomb - so great!
This game marked the first Flashback Friday game of the season. Flashback Friday games are retro themed games where the Kings wear their 1985 themed alternate jerseys. The jerseys are baby blue and look absolutely amazing. I'm probably going to have to pick one up in the very near future.
The Kings were playing the Lakers today, and that always gets fans from both sides into the arena. I did notice, however, that there seemed to be less of a Lakers presence than in games past.
Kings rookie Willie Cauley-Stein got the start tonight. He has been showing some very good progress already as a young NBA player. If he can keep it up he will a forced to be reckoned with for every team that takes on the Kings.
The Kings Dancers were in quite a few performances during the game. They usually have one per half, but this special night had them performing with Slamson as well as dancing at half-time. It was a busy night for these gals.
On the court the Kings dominated the Lakers early as they poured in 40 points in the first quarter alone. It was great to see the Kings really take it to the Lakers - that just never gets old for Sacramento fans!
Check it out... this is how we do it!!! Yep, it's Montell Jordan himself! Montell sang both the national anthem as well as his hit during halftime. The crowd loved him, and having him perform his classic from the 90's was perfect for this game.
Towards the end of the game both teams knew the Kings had it so the coaches had a chance to empty the bench a little. Players like Eric Moreland and Seth Curry had some time to show what they could do.
A number of Kings were giving post game interviews after this win. Here's Rondo answering some questions for CSN.
It was a wonderful night for Kings fans - they all left the arena very happy with this victory. Can't wait to see the Kings in-person again on Tuesday when they take on the Grizzlies!
